Elian is Michael Duane Ferrell. His album 'Whispers, Then Silence' was released in 2010 and was met with critical acclaim. It was a turning point for the label as we had sat on the release until the perfect time, confusing some with a seemingly new 'dark' direction (as many called it). The truth is Elian has been one of our favourite artists for a long long time now, and he is one of the most patient (and talented) people we've ever met. The genius of his music is in its incredible subtley, with short simple melodies staying with you long after they have been consumed by rumbling bass tones, and white noise elements. 'Harrowgate' is the long overdue follow-up to 'Whispers, The Silence', with more of a focus on strings and sub-bass than in any of his previous work. 'Harrowgate' is currently being mastered for vinyl release by James Plotkin and should be out by the end of the year.
Here's a little more about Elian:
Elian is the creative moniker for the music of Michael Duane Ferrell. Eschewing any attempt to define his music, he instead invites the listener to create their own interpretations and conclusions through exploring the suggestive, sensual world of sound. He lives and works in Chesterfield, Virginia (USA).
